And finally here is the last instalment of my mini favourites series! Here are all my favourite haircare products of 2018.
I’m going to sub-categorize this one because I use three shampoo’s for various reasons. And yes, that may sound excessive to some people. But I pay to get my colour done so I want to make sure that I’m taking care of my hair. Call it an investment 😉
Amika Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Shampoo
Hiii blondies this one is for you! I get a lot of DM’s about how I keep my hair looking bright and blonde and this is my trick. This is the best purple shampoo I’ve ever tried and I’ve tried A LOT. It’s super nourishing and hydrating and also has a amazing scent from Amika’s signature ingredient sea buckthorn. If you’re blonde and love having cool toned hair this is the shampoo for you!
Hint: you can also use this as a “toner”. Sometimes I leave this in my damp hair in a little bun for 15 minutes and then rinse it out for an extra boost of coolness!
Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal+Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo
Sometimes my hair and scalp need a deep clean when I’ve gone a few days (more like a week oops!) of no washing and there’s some serious product build up. This has a wonderful cooling sensation on the scalp and feels incredible. My scalp feels hydrated and squeaky clean like I’ve just been to the salon. In 2019 I think we should talk MORE about scalp health because the key to growing your hair and having healthy locks is taking care of your scalp!!
Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair! Super Moisture Shampoo
I saw Something Navy using this so I immediately went to Sephora and purchased it. First of all, you’re getting so much product for the price. Most shampoo’s at Sephora run from $20-$60 for 8oz of product. This is $46 for 16 oz. You’re getting double the product for about the median price. Second of all, this product has truly changed my hair. It’s ultra nourishing and hydrating and keeps my hair looking frizz-free and healthy. I love the smell as well! It lingers on my hair when it’s freshly washed. People have actually complimented me on my perfume when in fact it’s this!
This one was tough because I go through A LOT of conditioners but the one I’m going to talk about really made the biggest difference in my hair.
Briogeo Rosarco Repair Conditioner
I really jumped on the Briogeo bandwagon this year and I’m happy I did. Their products are truly the best for damaged and coloured hair. This conditioner not only smells like vacation but it really aids in the overall health of my locks. This formula increases hair’s moisture levels, nourishes and protects from harmful UV rays. My hair has never felt so thick, luscious and healthy. Also all Briogeo’s products are free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil and formaldehyde’s.
Surprise surprise I have two in this category because by now you have all realized I can’t seem to pick just one favourite!!
Ouai Leave-In Conditioner
Ouai does hair styling products like no other. Post-shower I spray this all over my hair for extra hydration and a bit of detangling. It also protects from thermal damage, smooths flyways and leaves my hair feeling silky smooth post-blow dry! I’ve gone through three bottles of this stuff and will continue to repurchase.
IGK Thirsty Girl Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioner
This is an interesting product because it comes out as more of a hair spray than leave-in conditioner milk. I use this on my dry hair when I’ve gone a few days without washing it and it needs a little boost of hydration! It smells like the tropics and uses hyaluronic acid technology for deep hydration.
Don’t be afraid to use oil in your hair people!!
Ouai Rose Hair & Body Oil
I love love love hair oils and this one has topped all the oils I’ve ever used before. It’s colour safe and super lightweight. I love the smell and the way it sinks into my hair easily leaving it looking hydrated, healthy and shiny. Bonus: you can also use this on your skin!
Briogeo Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Creme
Heat protectant is extremely important if you constantly blow dry your hair or use hot tools! This creme is weightless and fortified with rosehip, argan and coconut oils. It protects up 425F and is silicone-free.
IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo
For some reason dry shampoo has always been the product that I find hardest to love. However, I discovered this product in 2018 and I’ve gone from washing my hair three times to week to sometimes only once. The white tea powder in this soothes the scalp while the charcoal cleanses the scalp of dirt and grime. My hair looks so good on day three and four of no washing that people think I’ve gone to have a blow out done!
That’s A Wrap!
And we’re done! That’s a wrap on all my beauty favourites for 2018. I hope you enjoyed this little mini series and comment down below you want to see me do more mini series on my blog.
As always, thank you for reading.
